NOTE: Attendance is highly encouraged, but is neither a requirement nor a guarantee of player placement for the Fall.

2025-2026 GIRLS' BASKETBALL TRYOUTS
THESA will hold its tryouts for the 2025-2026 in August (details below). Prospective players can express interest by emailing girlsbasketball@thesariders.com.
WHO: All prospective THESA Riders for the 2025-2026 Girls’ Basketball Season. If you know of homeschooled athletes that didn’t play for THESA in 2024-2025, but might be interested this year, please invite them or put them in contact with us.
WHAT (do I do to prepare for tryouts): Athletes should be working on their basketball skills and conditioning. There are videos on our website that can be used as an aid.
Athletes are to complete a THESA Basketball Athlete Application and Release form, and a valid physical (within last 12 months) to tryouts. If a physical has not been completed, one must be completed before the first game. NOTE: a THESA Physical form is not required but is provided for convenience. Please review the THESA Eligibility Requirements, and read the THESA Athletic Handbook.
Also, please review the NCHC Homeschool Basketball Eligibility Guidelines. https://www.nchclive.com/guidelines/
WHEN: August 11, 2025 (times in the table below). Please arrive 30 minutes before your tryout time for check-in. A Coaches Look will be required for anyone that either can’t attend the regularly scheduled tryout time on August 11th (exception-basis) for their age group, or for athletes we ask to return to get a 2nd look. If you can’t attend the August 11th tryout, you must request to attend the coaches look by emailing girlsbasketball@thesariders.com. We will briefly address parents/athletes before tryouts; parents are welcome to stay and watch, but please no “coaching” from the bleachers.

WHY: This is competitive homeschool basketball so the tryout is used to evaluate skill and potential team placement. Athletes will participate in basketball drills. Because it is competitive, placement is not guaranteed.
HOW (do I know which tryout time to attend): Player team eligibility is determined based on your birthday as of Aug. 1 of the current year. Example(s): Player A is 15 as of 8/1/2025. Player A should attend the 16U Tryout. Player B is 14 as of 8/1/2025 but wants to be considered for 16U; Player B should attend both the 14U and 16U Tryouts.
Per athlete fees are as follows:
*Subject to change for 2025-2026 seasons. Also, NCHC also charges a $50 per athlete player fee paid directly to NCHC at the time of player registration for the District/Regional/National Tournaments.
NOTE: Uniform includes custom sublimation home and away jersey and shorts and Shooter Shirt. Returning players are not required to purchase a new uniform provided their uniform fits and is in good condition.
